Chat Rules & Availability
Control who can message you and manage your online presence
Managing Your Chat Environment
Chat rules and availability settings give you control over your messaging experience. Set boundaries for fan behavior, manage your online status, and configure automatic responses for when you're away.
Chat Rules
- Allow/disallow fan media - Control whether fans can send you images and videos in chat. Disable this if you prefer text-only conversations.
- Mute unknown users - Automatically mute messages from users who haven't subscribed yet. Their messages are still received but won't trigger notifications.
Availability Status
Your availability status is shown to fans in the chat interface:
- Online (green) - You're actively available and responding
- Away (yellow) - You're not actively monitoring chat
- Offline (gray) - You're not available
Auto-Reply
When your status is set to Away or Offline, you can configure an auto-reply message that's sent to fans when they message you. Use this to let fans know when you'll be back or to direct them to your content in the meantime.
Chat Freeze
Chat freeze pauses all incoming messages. When enabled, fans cannot send you new messages. Existing conversations are preserved but no new messages come through. This is useful when you need a complete break.
Use chat freeze sparingly. Extended periods without communication may lead fans to cancel their subscriptions. If you need a break, set an auto-reply explaining when you'll return.
Set your status to Away with an auto-reply during off-hours rather than going fully offline. This tells fans you're still active but not immediately available.
